For example, the pair had two ceremonies around the same day, one of these incorporating seven blessings, inspiring the bride-to-be's Jewish heritage.
Katie wore the boho wedding dress, which she designed herself together with designer Dana. Just look at that beautiful detail!
"Although I hadn't spent enough time thinking about what I do on my big day, I didn't wish to wear a whole outfit that may never be worn again. And I realized I wanted it to possess some color too."
The beautiful bouquet and floral decor are intended by Katie's mother and cousin, who sourced the blooms via.
"They were the brains behind all of the decorations. My mother advised us on seasonal flowers and together we find the colors we most preferred. They both did an extraordinary job, the whole marquee looked wonderful and couldn't happen to be more perfect. They also made my bouquet and also the buttonhole flowers."
The couple hired a photographer to document their beautiful day.
"Joseph and I happen to be together since we met during our final year at University (in 2014). Joseph proposed in February 2019 by reading Katie a poem he'd written, whilst I was sitting on Tempelhof (a classic airport, now a park) in Berlin, where we live. We got married seven months later."
"Joseph was accompanied, in the woodshed within the garden, towards the ceremony within the marquee by his family, arm-in-arm together with his parents and the four siblings following behind."
"Katie then emerged on the other side of the garden together with her family, arm-in-arm together with her parents, and three siblings following behind. The sound of 'Unconditional' by Nick Mulvey was playing as the pair arrived at their ceremony."
After their first ceremony, the pair made their way, in rather unique transport, to their second ceremony location.
The bride's mother has by all accounts an incredible eye for decor and detail and assisted the pair in decorating the marquee.
"My cousin's beautiful handmade bunting (used first at her daughter's wedding in 2016) and also the natural surrounding from Thomas's garden, including some flower beds planted especially for that occasion by Joseph's mum. We borrowed candle holders and vases from family and friends, as I was to re-use where possible."
The couple was hired to feed their guests, by supplying drinks.
"Our cake was made by – Izzy creates the most amazing cakes which taste delicious. She designed a carrot cake, lemon, and blueberry cake along with a victoria sponge. It was three tiers. She is located in London."
"I am so lucky to possess so many good friends, but none of whom I desired to dress up in matching clothing. Friends played a role in the day in lots of other ways. I also wouldn't know how to start if I had needed to choose between them to become my bridesmaids!"
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"Make it personal. Think about why it is you are becoming married and be sure that that's front and center. If you can, make your ceremony! For us, it had been not about celebrating the fact that people had reached a stage within our relationship that people were prepared to make this commitment, instead, it had been about recognizing the gravity of the commitment I was making, asking us and friends gathered there on your day to be our witnesses to that particular promise and celebrating the beginning of our way of life as a husband and wife."
