Important Changes to the Leveling of a Rogue with the Shadowlands Pre-Patch
It is important to note that the Shadowlands Covenant system is not being made available as a pre-patch which is why it won't be covered in this article. Players will not be given the opportunity to choose a Covenant until their first character reaches level 60 . Shadowlands.
There is a new section in your spellbook between General and your talent specialization that is simply called "Rogue". These are skills which are now available to every Rogues regardless of the particularization they select.
New Rogues won't be starting with an initial spec (Assassination) similar to what they had previously in previous expansions. In the meantime, until they can select a spec by level 10 the abilities they have are drawn upon the broad Rogue abilities that are available to any specialization. Allied Race Rogues will be prompted to choose the specialization they wish to specialize in when they start.
Experienced Rogues will notice some talents have been reworked or rearranged. This could need to re-acquire some skills.
The AoE (Area Of Effect) caps are implemented in Shadowlands pre-patch. It places limitations on the number of targets the ability can be able to hit at once. This affects some Rogue abilities.
The Best Rogue Leveling Spec in Shadowlands
For the complete beginner to the class, though each specialization has strengths and weaknesses, we suggest Outlaw as the most effective Rogue leveling specifications. Outlaw has Grappling Hook, a feature that allows for easy travel as well as Blade Flurry for a powerful AoE. Utilizing Stealth is the key to playing a rogue well and Outlaw is the one that most benefits from experimenting while learning the ins and outs of Stealth.
Many players have chosen Subtlety as their pick of most effective Rogue leveling specification. Subtlety has good survivability, as you regenerate health in Stealth via Soothing Darkness, and fun blast potential, as well as the possibility of surprise. If you are familiar with the idea of Stealth then this is an ideal choice.
If you are seeking a comprehensive specification with the smallest number of buttons to push, it could be a good choice with Assassination. Flexible, powerful, and easy to use, with options for complexity through focus on bleeds and poisons, Assassination is a good choice for the player who doesn't fear the constant presence of DoTs on their target. If you're used to a DoT heavy casting class prior to making the switch to Rogue It can be a good change.
Selecting the Rogue Specialization
Before level 10, you're a Rogue with general capabilities. Once you've reached level 10 You can select one of the three specializations available: Assassination, Outlaw, or Subtlety.
At level 10, you'll choose the specialization you want to choose at level 10. You can switch between specializations by opening up your Specialization amp; Talents tab (or pressing N to open it fast) and selecting the specialization you prefer, and clicking the Activate button. There is no cost for switching!
Assassination Option: Use Sinister Strike to generate Combo Points to spend on Slice and Dice to speed up your attacks or Eviscerate to deal more damage. At level 16, you will substitute Sinister Strike with Mutilate, which generates additional Combo points. At level 17, you can pick up Rupture to make the target bleeding. When you reach level 19, you receive Fan of Knives to attack those around you. With Envenom at the level of 22, you get a second combination point spender alongside Rupture. Always protect your weapons with Instant Poison or Deadly Poison to reduce the lifespan of your adversaries. The damage of Assassination is based on the fact that they keep their poisons high over their foes (while the majority of Rogues have the ability to use Poisons It's a major aspect of the Assassination the rogue's ability).
Outlaw Outlaw: Use Sinister Strike to generate Combo Points, and Pistol Shot once it's activated. Spend Combo Points to Slice as well as Dice to speed up the attack Speed and Dispatch to cast devastating damage at your adversaries. Maintain your pace Roll the Bones in order to get small combat bonuses. Outlaw's damage is based on the management of the energy levels of your body to continually attack an enemy. At Level 19, you'll get Blade Flurry, which gives you the ability of attacking multiple targets!
Subtlety: Use Sinister Strike to generate combo points until you reach Backstab when you reach level 18, and Shadowstrike (if you're at least level 12 and in Stealth). Spend them on Eviscerate to inflict damage on a target. At 14th level, you be able to get Shuriken Toss a combo point that is ranged builder and then Shuriken Storm for AoE damage , with the added bonus of 1 combo point per target hit. Higher levels can utilize Shadow Dance to temporarily allow you to use abilities like such as Shadowstrike. These can only be utilized in Stealth or out of Stealth. Subtlety's damage depends on between staying inside and outside of Stealth.
Choosing an Race for Your Rogue in Shadowlands
The choice of your race is difficult, since it defines our character's appearance and is an expensive trait to change. Unlike in the past, Racial Traits don't give players a lot of benefits in terms of throughput, most race perks are limited to utility or profession bonuses.
All races except those that have hooves, such as Draenei/Lightforged Draenei on the Alliance and Tauren/Highmountain Tauren on the Horde They can also become Rogues.
The default Races are games that can immediately play when you first sign-up to playing with your WoW account.
Allied Races are races that have certain requirements that need to be met before you can make characters belonging to that race.
Each race has different skills and abilities however, none of them have an immediate advantage when compared to others, so you can design your Rogue to be whichever race is most appealing to you! R
Top Rogue Leveling Talents for Rogues in Shadowlands
Recommended Assassination Leveling Talents for Shadowlands
This isn't an error it's true that most of the leveling talents for this spec really fall on from the right side! The purpose of these talents is to counterbalance the Assassination rogue's use and reliance on Poisons and Bleeds, as well as helping to improve survival and manage energy by Leeching Poison as well as Vigor.
Suggestions for Outlaw Leveling Talents in Shadowlands
Outlaw rogues have already experienced a bit of a management issue for bars with Shadowlands as there are so many general Rogue capabilities added into the equation. This build is designed to enhance utility, while also giving the Outlaw a slate of important passives that aren't going to further complicate the rules.
